Davide Buongiorno is a judge at the 2020 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA)
Davide Buongiorno, at the age of 31, started his career as Head Sommelier in Venice at “Met”, one Michelin Star restaurant of Metropole Hotel 5* in Venice.
Since then, Davide has worked successfully in several different Michelin restaurants in Italy, UK, and Jersey. During this time, he won two regional Italian competitions.
In 2016 Davide returned to Italy and he was appointed Head of Wine at “Del Cambio”, 1 Michelin star restaurant in Turin, one of the oldest restaurants in Italy & Europe. Here he managed the wines selection of four company outlets and refined his knowledge on Piedmont wines.
2019 was a year of change for Davide with some wine consulting and backpacking.
Now he is back in London working at Sartoria, along with Chef Francesco Mazzei.
He has been a judge for 5 Stars Vinitaly as well as Wow competition for Civilta’ del Bere. He is currently studying for CMS advanced.
